Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-30
This Privacy Policy describes how A DIY Day ("we", "us", or "our"), operating the website https://adiyday.com and run by Ismail Farooq, a sole proprietor based in Lahore, Pakistan, collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit and use our services.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
A. Location and Forecast Queries
Our service provides weather-based decision tools for outdoor projects. When you search for a forecast using a 5-digit U.S. ZIP code or use your browser's geolocation:
- Client-Side Coordinate Resolution: ZIP code lookups are resolved directly inside your web browser using static coordinate shards based on U.S. Census Bureau ZCTA data.
- Direct Weather Service Requests: Your browser fetches forecast data directly from the U.S. National Weather Service API (
api.weather.gov). Your IP address and the requested coordinates are received by NOAA as part of standard web protocol. We do not store or track your personal search history on our servers. - Local Storage: We save your last-selected ZIP code and coordinates in your browser’s
localStoragepurely for convenience so your forecast reloads automatically on return visits. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.
B. Server Logs and Hosting Infrastructure
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare automatically collects standard technical server logs (such as IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, referring URLs, and timestamps) solely for security, DDoS protection, rate limiting, and edge-caching purposes.
